Homeworld (1999) is a real-time strategy computer game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sierra Entertainment. It was the first fully three-dimensional RTS game. Marine frigate capture bug[edit]

Marine frigates are unable to capture enemy vessels. Once the capture-order has been completed, ship control is never transferred, even with repeated attempts.

This is not a bug. Relic disabled the ability to capture ships that build other ships in Single Player.

Choppy/laggy camera movement on Windows 7 fix[edit]

Enable Vsync via the PLAYERCFG.LUA file found in Homeworld2/Bin/Profiles/Profile1 by editing it with a simple text editor. This will force the game to enable Vsync if the game crashes when you select Vsync in the Options menu ingame.

Obsolete video card driver error message fix for modern Nvidia cards[edit]

  1. Go to /BIN
  2. Edit driverConfig.lua and replace some content with this.

Black screen, then crash on startup for AMD cards[edit]

Replace the atioglxx.dll file
  1. Download the updated atioglxx.dll file.
